international trade of Alabama.
Present Mission
statement: This mission of the Alabama World Trade Association is

international trade; and to pursue initiatives on the state and federal level that support
positive trade policies and the creation of new markets for Alabama companies and their
employees.
AWTA

approximately 100 companies throughout Alabama whose mission is to promote the
international trade of Alabama.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Trade in Alabama
Whether you're a small farmer or a large corporation in Alabama, foreign trade is a
challenging endeavor. Not only is the economic competition tough, but too many public
officials don't understand or simply ignore the positive impact of Alabama exports. The
Alabama World Trade Association provides a forum for exporters across the state to
communicate the value of international trade to policy decision makers.
How can AWTA help my
business?
Our goal is to promote positive trade policies in Montgomery and in Washington to enhance
Alabama exports. We also provide the opportunity to join other exporters in meeting with
members of the Alabama Congressional delegation to share concerns and suggestions about
important trade issues such as NAFTA, Normal Trade Relations with China, and Presidential
Fast Track Authority.
Coalition Building
AWTA works to provide a united voice on important trade issues. AWTA is leading the way to
forge strong trade coalitions in our state. We partner with Alabama Chambers of Commerce,
The Business Roundtable in Washington, DC, The Business Council of Alabama, North Alabama
International Trade Association, the Alabama Export Council, and other organizations
throughout our state to pursue mutual objectives.
